The Eastern part of Indonesia has a vast potential regions to become the last frontier to provide means of national growth from various aspects; to name the few, oil and gas, agriculture, fishery, maritime and last but not least, tourism. However, It is about 70 years overdue. With the mission of the current President of the country, Joko Widodo, to build the Eastern States of Indonesia (Papua, Maluku, NTT), and looking at the geographical facts especially Maluku, “Tourism” industry should lead the mission. Once the tourism industry is developed, other industries mentioned above will benefit as derivatives and grow. Since Maluku in fact is behind in developing its tourism industry, programs to stimulate tourism are badly needed.
